Your privacy is important to us. To help you understand how we protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about how your information is collected and used. 

The Information We Collect

This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through your communications with Chinquapin Preparatory School (“Chinquapin”), whether electronic, written, or oral, and information collected through Chinquapin websites, as well as any other information about you that we may collect offline or receive from third parties. By providing your information to us, you accept and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

The types of personal information collected by Chinquapin may include, and is not limited to, the following:  contact information, demographic information, health information, financial information including credit card numbers, social media information, employment information, and internet (web) activity information including information from cookies if you do not opt-out (or, where required by law, if you do not opt-in).

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide to achieve our operational objectives or to receive and acknowledge donations. If required, we may use your information to comply with law and regulations, or comply with legal demands, or to protect against potential fraud.  We never publish or share your personal information with outside parties. We do not rent or sell your information, and we do not share personal information with outside parties except those who are contractually bound by equivalent privacy expectations. We may use non-identifying and/or aggregated information for internal purposes.  If you make a donation to Chinquapin and choose to make your gift anonymous, your name will not appear in any acknowledgements or lists that we make public. 

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. To further protect your personal information, we do not store any bank account information, and we only have access to the last four digits of your credit card number once it processes through our secure online payment system. Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy 

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we take extra precautions regarding all student and applicant information.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

If you are a parent or student, you can access the information in your school account, which is private.   If you are not a parent or student, you can review your personally identifiable information in our database by contacting our office at (281) 426-5551 to request it.  You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by notifying us in writing or over the phone. If you make changes over the phone, to protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
