Our mission is to provide a high-quality college-preparatory education to able and motivated youth from low-income families in the greater Houston area. Through rigorous curriculum and an emphasis on community service and earning what one receives, we aim to produce responsible, well-educated citizens who will become constructive leaders in their communities.

As providers of Houston challenging college prep academics, we firmly believe that income should not dictate the outcome in regard to educational opportunities. Chinquapin Prep features a merit-based admission system that is designed to attract motivated, hard-working, intelligent leaders, who strive to be successful far beyond high school.
With our challenging college prep academics in Houston TX, we strive to train college-ready adults who will thrive in the ranks of higher education. We have the historical data to prove it: 85 percent of Chinquapin Prep graduates go on to complete their college education. In fact, 36 percent of graduates continue to pursue some sort of graduate work.
Through small class sizes, Houston challenging college prep teachers that are available to provide one-on-one support, and a diverse curriculum designed to create leaders, Chinquapin is equipped young men and women with the tools they need to succeed in college and beyond.
Making these educational opportunities available to everyone
Chinquapin Prep seeks talented, motivated students in underserved areas. There are many gifted students who do not find the educational resources they need at their neighborhood schools. Chinquapin Prep provides sliding scale tuition to ensure economically-strapped families will have access to our program and instruction from our challenging college prep teachers in Houston TX.
In fact, most families pay only $500 per year for their tuition while boarding, educating and feeding them generally comes with a price tag closer to $16,000. Chinquapin Prep is privately funded, relying on donations from individuals, corporations
Students are tasked with maintaining all areas of campus, providing them with a sense of ownership by putting something into our institution. Our motto “Quid pro quo” or “something for something” means everyone has skin in the game. Students understand that this educational opportunity requires a lot from them in return.
